All Fans Encouraged to Donate Hockey Equipment to ESYHF at Flyers - Islanders Game
Fans attending the Flyers vs. New York Islanders game at the Wachovia Center on Monday, November 12 at 7 p.m. are encouraged to bring new or gently used hockey equipment to the game. All equipment will be donated to participants in the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, a program established by Comcast-Spectacor Chairman and Flyers Founder Ed Snider, to provide opportunities to underserved children in the Greater Philadelphia region to learn to play the great game of hockey.
Fans that donate equipment at the game on Monday, November 12, will receive an autographed picture of former Flyers captain Keith Primeau.
Over the past year, the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation has touched the lives of over 1,000 students from 40 different schools in Philadelphia. The program focuses on teaching teamwork, positive self-esteem, respect of others and the importance of hard work through the sport of hockey. As part of their physical education curriculum, students participate in free Learn to Play Hockey sessions to learn the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport.
Fans attending the Flyers vs. New York Islanders game can come early and enjoy Keith Primeau's Durham Hockey Institute Cup Scholastic All Star Game at 3 p.m. Immediately following the tournament, fans in attendance will be invited to a meet and greet with Keith Primeau at the AT&T Pavilion.
