A Day of Service, Education, and Fun
(PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 21, 2008) The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation (ESYHF) is helping children honor Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Laura Sims Skate House on Monday, January 21st at 9:45 a.m. Participants will learn more about Dr. King’s achievements and perform community service of their own by cleaning the rink and the area surrounding the Laura Sims Skate House. The celebration will end with a free pizza party and ice skating session for all those who participate in the cleanup.
The event is open to all ESYHF players as well as any friends or relatives the players wish to invite. Registration is required for all participants and can be completed by calling the ESYHF main office at 215-952-5271. Boys and girls of all ages are encouraged to participate not only in the Martin Luther King Day event but in any of the Foundation’s other programs as well.

The mission of the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation is to impact the lives of underserved youth in Philadelphia by developing programs that incorporate on-ice and off-ice activities, stressing citizenship, academics and life skills. The programs are provided to boys and girls who otherwise would not have opportunities to enjoy ice hockey. The Foundation provides equipment, ice time, and experienced coaching at no cost.
