FROMM ESTABLISHES "SHUTOUTS FOR KIDS"

Jordan Fromm, a current student at Wissahickon Middle School, recently established a hockey charity this past year known as “Shutouts for Kids”. As a goaltender for both the Warwick Wildcats travel team and the Wissahickon Middle School hockey team, Fromm generates donations to the charity for each shutout he posts. During the 2009-2010 hockey season, Jordan raised a total of $2,345 by accumulating a total of eight shutouts for his two hockey clubs.

The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation is very pleased to be the recipient of Jordan’s first donation on behalf of his Shutouts for Kids charity. Fromm presented Mr. Snider with a check in the amount of $2,345 prior to a Philadelphia Flyers home playoff game this past spring. “It speaks well for him and his family” said Snider as he accepted the check. “I’m very proud of this young man” added Snider.

Ed Snider created the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation in 2005 as a personal commitment to teach children important life lessons. The Foundation uses the sport of ice hockey as its “hook” to bring a diverse population of children together, enabling them to enjoy a top-notch sports experience coupled with an array of educational activities and character development. The program has rapidly grown to include over 2,500 participants in just its fourth full season.

The mission of the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation is to use the sport of hockey to help educate young people to succeed in the game of life. The program incorporates on-ice and off-ice activities, stressing citizenship, academics, and life skills. ESYHF services are targeted for boys and girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn to skate or to play ice hockey. The Foundation provides equipment, ice time, and experienced coaching at no cost.
